We're excited to announce that A.C.E. has successfully completed the Readiness Training Program – Funnel 1, Cohort 5!
This specialized program, delivered by the Bureau of Business Research and the IC² Institute at The University of Texas at Austin, is designed to small businesses like ours to build capacity, navigate government contracting processes, and compete more effectively for public sector opportunities in the Austin region and beyond.
As a Texas-based geotechnical engineering consulting firm headquartered in the Austin metropolitan area, A.C.E. delivers essential engineering design services to owners, developers, real estate professionals, architects, engineers, contractors, and public entities. We are committed to operational excellence, ethical practices, public safety, and environmental stewardship in every project we undertake.
The program, which ran from November 2025 through January 2026, featured a series of online sessions and interactive workshops covering critical topics such as:
Overviews of local, state, and university HUB/M/WBE/DBE programs and bid databases
Crafting effective capability statements, value propositions, and elevator pitches
Certification and registration strategies
Accessing regional resources, capital, and support networks
Best practices for responding to solicitations, including AI-assisted proposal development
Insights from successful contractors and government agency representatives
Participating in Funnel 1 (tailored for newer or smaller businesses) gave us foundational knowledge and practical tools to strengthen our positioning in government contracting. The curriculum was led by an outstanding team of experts from UT Austin, Travis County, the City of Austin, Capital Metro, and other key partners.
We are proud to receive this certificate of completion, signed by program leaders including:
Dr. S. Craig Watkins, Executive Director, IC² Institute
Dr. John S. Butler
Dr. James E. Jarrett
J. Jorge Anchondo
Shruti Nair
And supported by the Travis County Purchasing Office, City of Austin's Small and Minority Business Resources Department, Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and more.
This achievement marks an important step forward for A.C.E. as we continue to expand our services and pursue meaningful partnerships with public agencies. We're now even better equipped to deliver high-quality geotechnical solutions that support infrastructure, development, and community projects across Texas.
A special thank you to the entire program team for creating such a valuable, transformative initiative for small businesses in our community.
