Custom Residence — Spicewood, Texas

A.C.E. provided geotechnical engineering for a custom Hill Country residence in Spicewood, Texas.

The home is a contemporary composition of sandstone, smooth stucco, natural oak, and standing-seam metal roofing. The program includes a main house and guest living, courtyard arrival, multi-bay garage, and rear indoor–outdoor rooms opening to a pool and covered porch. The house sits on a wooded lot of just under one acre, with existing live oaks retained as part of the site design.

Our work focused on the conditions that determine how this house should be founded and built: site investigation, characterization of Hill Country soils and rock, foundation recommendations, and review of the design package so the architectural intent could be constructed safely and perform over time. We also supported the project team through pre-construction coordination.
